i tried this Skullptura version and SKIDROW, iA **** , TL, TEST, yet i found no one that is online capable !!!!

I know someone's going to mark my comment down for daring to say anything bad about the all-powerful Skullptura, but this rip is fairly poor quality. I've gotten other Skullptura rips in the past (like Tiberium Wars, Fallout 3) and I know his work is solid, but this one in particular is crap.

Firstly, only a small gripe, their mouths don't move when they talk. I don't know why, but it looks very off (and their mouths do move in legal versions of the game).

When I was playing the 3rd map in the campaign, I blew up the gas station and the game dumped me out to the desktop with no error message. The game also crashed a few times for seemingly no reason whatsoever.

I didn't bother playing anymore because I figured if Skullptura didn't bother testing this rip to know that a gas station right at the start of the game dumps you to the desktop, the game was likely plagued with other problems later on and it wouldn't be worth the frustration, especially since if the game crashes, you get to start the level all over again. In this rare case, it might be more worth it to just buy the game, unless Skullptura really fixes this rip to be passable.

Just my honest opinion.

I seem to have the same problem as CaptainDingo, in that during Single Player campaign, the game crashes randomly and I'm left staring at my desktop with no error message. Any ideas? Thanks.

Voices and peoples lips were in sync and moving on my copy, and haven't had a single crash. So CaptainDingo have you ever thought it's just you're copy that corrupted while downloading or maybe just you're PC, because it's working fine for me and heaps of others.

Nothing I've ever downloaded to my computer has ever come back corrupted, so I was only able to go by my past experience. I've downloaded 3 or 4 Skullptura rips before this one and they were perfect, this one was very oddly broken in a dozen different ways.

yes this works fine u can play ONLINE with garena if u want to... its full version, all eenglish... maybe some bugs, but these bugs occur on original CD's as well...

HOW TO FIX CRASHES:

Had the same constant crashing problem, then I noticed they were similar to crashes when u try to play older games, like Silent Hill 2, on a dual core.

To fix this:

1. Start Left 4 dead
2. Press ctrl+shift+del
3. Right click on the left 4 dead app to find the left 4 dead process
4. Right click on the left 4 dead process to change it's cpu affinity
5. Make shure only one cpu is selected
6. Play the game (framerate might drop with just one core, when game AI gets crowded)

It could be Valve left this glitch in the game on purpose, since legal steamed versions of the game get automatic updates.

Hey guys i fixed the Crashing Problem!!! :D

When i tried playing over and over it kept crashing so i just tried to run the thing as administrator(ON VISTA), then i remembered UAC was off. So i just turned it back on, restarted my com.Right click on the "Left 4 Dead" Icon and ran as administrator & the game doesnt crash :D

Steps on Vista:
1)Turn UAC back on after installing the game
2)Run the game as Administrator

Im running the minimum requirements on the highest settings (with a crappy old GeForce 7300GT) and it runs smooth.

Great rip. works fine for me. I just find it annoying that its in a rar file. While it is compressed, it's less likely that I will seed because i don't want the .rar and the game files on my computer. Just pointing that out. I'm sure others agree with me.

if you have a dual core pc, open task manager and right click on left4dead.exe and change the number of computers which are using the game, choose only one, not two. then it'll work just fine.

works 95% PROBELEMS - YOU CANNOT EXIT,. YOU HAVE TO OPEN TASK MANAGER,AND THEN END THE GAME PROCESS. OR IT WILL NOT EXIT.
IF YOU WILL USE THE MACHINE GUN ON THE AIRPORT LEVEL, THE GAME WILL CLOSE automaticly.
if you will view the movies, it will take 10 minutes to load the next level.

they have a bug, disable it and it will work fine ;)

Ok people i've did it, i have created a guide to let work the Server Browser of the Rev Emu with the new updated MasterServer.vdf of the Setti CSS (updated at 2009-06-09).
In the package there is a ReadMe to install it correctly and let it Work;
This is the ReadMe:

INSTALL THIS RELEASE TO PLAY LEFT 4 DEAD NO-STEAM VERSION HAVING THE SETTI MASTERSERVER.VDF UPDATED AT 06/09/2009 (2009-06-09)
1) Open the file "rev.ini" and search for: "CachePath =";
Modify the path of your CachePath; set it to the folder where your .GCF files are located.
2) Always in the file "rev.ini" search for: "Language =";

Korean, Koreana, tChinese, Japanese, Russian, Thai, or Portugeuse

what the **** man.....it finally worked but now everytime it goes upto the menu part.........all i see is white blank space where the options for game play is supposed to be........and when i click somewhere random in that blank space it shuts down n takes me back to the desktop and yes the starting video plays fine

heres the instructions to get this l4d working online:

1- download this torrent, install it, follow everything properly and it will work properly

2- download the update + no steam patch found here http://www.mininova.org/tor/2784792 and install

3- go to garena.com , download the client and register an account

4- join a room assigned to whatever region ur in on garena

5- above the chat box u will see 2 boxes called "Settings" and "Start Game"... in settings locate where you installed the game for the 1st box, in the 2nd (bootstrap parameters) put +sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 +sv_lan 1

6- use the "Start Game" button and away you go! the servers are just games people on Garena have created, u will see them in the main menu down the bottom left in white writing

To create your own game that people can join:
in console type map l4d_whatever_map (when u type map l4d a list will come up)then type sv_gametypes coop (or versus but choose a vs map)

have fun!

This is not a virus, Skullptura and Skidrow are well known, Why would they put a virus?
If this game crashes, There is a thing on your bittorrent client that says "Hash Errors" If you're hash errors are too high, then it will cause lag and crashes. In that case, re-download it.
If you just downloaded this, and ask Stupid questions like "What is ____" And "How do I ____", I question why you are using Torrents and Pirated games in the first place.

i can't open the game l4d!!!!

a few words of advice. if you click on the .exe and nothing happends, chances are your computer specs aren't high enough, most likely the graphics card. or if you're running vista or 7, you need to change permissions on the .exe file. to do that, right click on the .exe, then click properties, and in the security tab, change permissions for all users to have full control. if that doesn't work, it's probably a hard ware issue like above.

for random crashes whilst playing, and crashing just as the pipe bomb explodes, after some research online through various forums, i've discovered it's due to a buggy engine.dll file in the l4d folder that doesn't handle multi-core systems the way it's supposed to, and causes the crashes. so if you have a multi-core system, a go around is to start the game, then bring up task manager, in the processes tab, click on the "show all processes" button near the bottom, which puts you in admin mode. then right click the left4dead.exe process and click "set affinity". in here, choose only one of the cores to be active for this process. that'll stop the crashes, but you'll have to do it every time you run the game, and of course, you'll see a performance drop, so you may need to reduce the resolution in game to keep things smooth. or you can google for the fixed engine.dll file that allows the game to run with multi-cores problem free. (i haven't tried the fixed engine.dll file yet, so not sure if it'll work). and if you do try it, remmeber to put the original engine.dll file in a safe place just in case things don't work out. don't over-write it.

select run in 640*480 resolution
and run sa administrator...........
apply the change.........
