Finished the game today, next to no problems
ChuNya must be ur pc or something mine extracted, installed and pla **** with out freezing once.
There was one glitch when Alex wouldn't open a door she was spost to, so I just nocliped throught it :P

It's legit. It just takes ages to extract it. Then forever to start up the .exe file. But it works fine. It did seem like my computer froze but I just waited. Worth the download.

Does it install onto steam or no?

ok, this torrent is clean and working. I finished this game today successfully. i had few purple textures in the first level and it crashed when I started typing "c" into the console, but that was all. that could be problem with my pc and graphic card and drivers (nvidia 5900xt). otherwise it is completely working, you can see everything, no other bugs, does NOT require steam - its standalone, no viruses. Im seeding it and its worth downloading... have fun, enjoy :)

Help! My computer freezes in the first level (undue alarm) in the citadel when the combine come running out on the transparent blue bridge. when the first shot is fired the shot sound repeats itself like 10 times and then a message comes up and says "hl2 has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience." Okay I'll admit that my computer sucks like crap (PIII 863 mhz 512 mb ram and geforce 2 pro) but i somehow managed to get portal running with very little lag, which needs a 1.7 Ghz PIV and a like geforce 6 or something. this is a lot more than hl2ep1's requirements, which is a 1.2 ghz with a geforce 4 or similar. please help me if you can! thanks.

nuclearbunny808: try newest graphic drivers, play at lower effects, scan your computer for disk errors, viruses...reinstall the game...

The game was working good untill i got to the part where Alex shoots the ladder with a sniper and the next level is over the ladder

after that it crashes

So far i have

checked for updated video driver OK

checked for viruses OK

Reinstatlled the game STILL CRASHES

my stats are

2400 AMD overclocked to 2600

1.50 RAM

5200 NVidia AGP Card

Please help

Im gonna undo the overclocking and see if that works but if not I will repost.
Can anyone help? Did anyone have this same issue? Does anyone have a cheese sandwich?

So i tried defraging my computer, lowered all graphics and it still crashes.
So lets recap

undoing overclock
lowering graphic settings
defraging computer
reinstalling
udated drivers

Still does not work. Can someone help I have episode 2 torrent downloaded but i don't want to play it untill i can see what happens at the end of episode 1

Do any of ever wonder why they hadn't made a movie for this game but they did for Doom. I think Half Life the movie would be kicks ass

If you have problems unziping:
i did to, got error: cannot execute [extension]
SOLUTION:
extract it into your half-life 2 folder (program file)
because yor hl2 files are in there, it works better
