What do i open the file with?

K when you install Diablo 2 use the CD the guy posted but when it says insert play disc in the middle of the installation extract the files from the play "diablo_2_play_disc" into the same folder you extracted the installation files into. After that click Ok then it should start installing. Not to long after that it will say insert the cinematics disk, extract the files from the "diablo_2_cinematics_disk" to the same place you extracted the install one (like you did before) and when its done click Ok. It should keep installing and it should work. (make sure you always click no when you extract the files if it wants to replace a file.

Once it's done installing go to google.com and search for the latest patch for Diablo 2 and download and install it. Before installing the patch be sure to make sure there's a no CD crack for it by searching for the matching crack for the matching patch. Copy the contents of the crack to whereever Diablo 2 installed and then click on the crack and the game should load. Hope it helped. I'll try getting LOD to work.

how do u open the game after instalilng? it keeps asking me to insert play disk. how do i do that?

ive installed Diablo 2 but how do you install LOD? First of all i put all my files from expansion_disk into install_disc and replaced them, then i put the expansion_disk FOLDER into the install_disk FOLDER. Then i went into the expansion_disk folder which is now in the install_disk folder. I click install and it came up as Upgrade to LOD, i clicked on that and it started to install. Half way through it said something like this: Setup was unable to add the following file to C:Program FilesDiablo IId2char.mpq:binkw32.dll Error 0x85200064 (P:DataD2TOOLSDiablnstSourceMpqUtil.cpp:32) Installation aborted.

Can someone tell me how to fix this OR at least tell me another way to install LOD

I installed both d2 and lod when i try to play it says to put in the expansion disc, which i mount with daemon but it doesnt seem to recognize it... Same thing happens with regular d2

when i try to open the install_disc file my computer says "command line error". WTF?! can somebody tell me how to fix this. I'd really like to play D2 sometime this century. thx.

If you want to play online READ THIS:

This is no joke or scam. Every blizzard's game has a bunch of private servers to which you can connect and play. However this are not the usual blizzard's servers.
This will only work with Diablo 2 LOD patched to version 1.12b. So if you haven't yet go download the patch and install it.

This is how to conect:

1. Download the Gateway Editor. (http://ender.tog.net/gwe.exe Mirror: http://rapidshare.com/files/125828012/gwe.exe.html
)
2. Run it.
3. Select Diablo 2/Diablo 2 LOD
4. Press Add Gateway
5. Settings For Gateway:
Name: Regwizar
Zone: 1
IP: battle.regwizar.com
6. Press OK
8. Press Set To Chosen Gateway.
9. Enjoy.

For installation on Windows Vista x64, when your Install Disc's ISO is mounted, you have to browse the fake CD-Rom drive and right-click Install.exe, and select "Run as Administrator", to get it to work. Otherwise you get plenty of "Can't create folder" errors.

few problems i had with this:
installed it perfectly after a few problems with not knowing whether to extract or mount(finally mount). installed it but with what (ryokuz) said is that there was no asking for the play or cinematic disk and it installed off the installation disk only. then i mounted the play disk but couldn't find the game.exe so i installed the the no cd crack which was the wrong version. finally found the right version. so i replaced the file clicked on the new .exe and screen went dark but to no avail nothing happened so i tried extracting the cinematics disk but said the target drive was full. wtf is wrong with me? please someone who is more knowledgeable please help.
