ok, an mdf file is an image of a disc, its used in virtual hard drives, to ues it, you need a virtual disc drive...

the best way is to use daemon tools, just look it up in google, the mdf file is exactly the same thing as having the real disc, it has the setup, dll files and everything, and if your cd key is ligit, you can play on the net with an mdf, as its essentially the real thing

There are 2 cds because that's how you get ra2 if you buy it in the shop , EA games provides a backup cd or somthing ,any way you can play the game even if you download just 1 of the cds

If your PC doesn't support this game than run it in compatability mode for win 98 , ok !

It's good. Didn't work on my XP though, even in compatibility mode. Had to run it on a 2000 box instead.

Can't fix it either... when I change the compatability to windows 98 it doesnt give the error anymore when I click setup.exe instead it sais that I should put in the CD in the CD-rom drive...

NO-CD patches are only available when the game is already installed.. not when it has yet to be installed... <:S

ahhh TT_TT so does that mean i have to install win 98 to play red alert? wtf? hahahahaha

red alert 2 can be run without 2nd cd. and installation is ended at first cd. if you want to play with russia, then u need second cd. otherwise u dont.

in the readme file, it says that RA2 assumes it's in the first CD drive if you have more than one (like since I have two CD drives, I have to put the game in the top one)

you can't run it from daemon or anything else like it because the virtual drive's letter is always after your real drive's letter

if anyone is still reading the comments, there are no viruses ( I scanned it before installing it, didn't find any, blame avg if there is lol ). To keep it simple, BOTH discs are in the torrent, you need the allied one to install ( if I remember correctly, it was a while ago soz ). If your install doesn't work because it says that the setup exe isn't working, its almost certainly because its corrupted...

Im sorry folks, but if you get that, its either because you listend to music or msn as you extracted the rar.... you just need to extract it again... worst case scenario is you actualy download was corrupted cause you hard disc froze or for someoter similar and lame problem....

for sax meister, I encountered the same problem with warcraft 3 lol, I think its because you installed it with a disc... ( thats what I did ), so, its just an idea...

also, one vital thing, U DO NOT NEED A PATCH, unless your playing on the net with YOUR OWN cd key, in which case its fine, Im also running this game on XP, and it works fine... I can't help out with anyone who has any other problems soz

AND LOOK UP FORUMS ON GOOGLE, its the net, don't limit your view to only the torrent lol
