Distribution places like Walmart, Blockbuster, etc. all receive the DvDs a month or so before scheduled release. Kudos to the adventurous employee that snagged himself a copy to encode for all of us!

wrong.. The original movie runtime is with 23.976 FPS... This one is 25 FPS. Let's do some math... Runtime of this release is 1H and 59M=7140 seconds... Therefore, number of frames=7140x25=178500 Frames... Now, the same movie with 23.976 FPS will be of the length 178500/23.976=7444.94 seconds... Which is also equal to 7200s+244s+0.94s... Which is thereby=2H 4M 4.94s=124M... :) Have fun with numbers lads!! :)

you can ask them to upload whatever movie you want but the reality is they cant until it comes out on dvd here or in Russia so we have a R5 version or someone seals a work print or a screener t least
for good quality you can always watch a cam or ts.

Why do the new movies come in the 1400MB size now, instead of the older 700MB? Let's count the reasons, shall we:

1) Movie length might be longer than the typical 1 hour and a half feature.
2) DVDs are giving way to BluRays now, hence BRrips versus DVDrips, yet still maintaining the avi format, all around means a bigger file size.
3) Higher quality rips with higher bitrates generally mean bigger file sizes (I really appreciate the higher quality myself). Higher quality rips means that the rips are more equal to the original DVD or BluRay discs.
4) Internet speeds are increasing as well as hard drive space, in short technology is rapidly changing. DUH.

Really, it is time to let go of the 700MB file sizes, with one exception. I like it that some uploaders still split the movie up into 700MB pieces (so it fits on a CD). I further like it when the uploader includes the assorted SRT subtitle files. That is my own opinion.

Seriously though, MANY THANKS TO THE UPLOADER :D

I really hate to bring up the "axxo fanboy argument" but you are so wrong here. The quality of axxo's uploads were (and are) second to none (both visual and more importantly, audio), and most were strictly kept at 700 MB.
I've downloaded several maxspeed rips that had terrible sound but were still 1400MB files. Granted, more recently, they've improved, but 3-4 months ago, it was difficult to get a maxspeed rip that didn't have cam sound.

So:
Point 1) Doesn't have anything to do with most downloaded movies.
Point 2) You're right. But it's clearly stated that this is a DVDRip, not a BRRip.
Point 3) You're wrong. It's down to well it's re-encoded. Axxo was number one for this. Noir and FXG are normally pretty good too.
Point 4) ... Just doesn't even warrant a response.

It's not time to let go of 700 MB files. Ultimately, I'm grateful to any one that re-encodes rips into these files so I can watch and "decide before I buy". But Axxo set a standard that is yet to be matched.

Erm not amazing quality. It's quite Blurry. It's also quite dark and the audio isn't amazing.

@hopelessR: Yes even I faced the very same problem and have to leave my laptop on for flat 48 hrs with endless crashes with the very same message. I also tries 3 different torrent clients but the result was same.

However the print is The BEST and worth all the pain.

@ turbohead and Bad@hopelessR: i have also the same problem with utorrent 2.0.4. I thougt it was because i had the installed the latest version of utorrent and that there was a bug in it.

12/09/10: This is by far the best print one could get their hands on, but that said this is not an official Dvd Rip. It sure may be ripped off a DVD but if you're expecting the quality of a 'DVD rip' you're probably going to be disappointed as I was.

I suggest that you take a good look at the screenshots before you download. If you think the movie may look better than the screenshots, you're wrong; I know I was!

14/09/10: I'm assuming that whoever gave me the bad votes think that blocks and interleave sparsing errors are acceptable in a Dvdrip. I don't see what else I wrote could have agitated them. If this is how people respond to others' sincere comments to assist fellow downloaders, there wouldn't be many of us willing to share our experiences any more.

Who has been going and voting bad on all the good comments left by people? There are too many negative marked comments, that are only thanking the uploader. WTH is wrong with that?!

BTW, just so you know, I do like aXXo's rips, but I am not stuck on them. So, no, I am not an aXXo fanboy. That being said, I won't turn down a TRUE aXXo Torrent. I do after all have an older PC, with only a 20GB hard drive. I have slow bandwith, too, but that doesn't mean that I am going to complain about it. Download once, Seed twice (at the very least), no matter the size.

Downloaded the file but there is no audio, have downloaded the format tag 2000 codec and so far have tried WMP 9, DIVX and MPCSTAR players to no avail. Pls help...
