It is working just fine, to bad that you need to log in to Windows Live and enter a CD key to be able to save your progress. Did some races but un installed the game, no fun to start over every time you restart the game.

I think it's the same saving problem as by GTA IV in the begingins of the game :)... i dont now if they solved that with a crack but the offline registration worked fine... and with red faction too :o)...

I can't chose to play offline, it starts to ask for the CD key before i get any option to play offline or on line?

Yes, you need to create an offline account in order to save your progress. Press home in game and chose create offline account, once you have created one other windows live games will use the same account.

Just out of curiosity, many of you have downloaded the game. Why don't you seed? All I could pick up the ENTIRE day is 6 seeders. Common guys, be gentle. Download has been running for almost 24 Hours and only 15% progress.

When you're making a new profile, there is one screen where you're being introduced to Windows Live, the screen with the most text, just before it sends you to your browser, I guess. In the text there is a link to create the offline account. I've found it and thought it would be useful to share it with you guys this way.

Also, after installing the game, make sure you copy all the files from the Crack folder, not just the dirt2.exe but ALSO the dirt2o.exe and rld.dll! Otherwise you will get an error.

Gaming is working fine n saving is also fine.there is nothing mentioned as "offline profile" but its given by another name,to the rite of ur screen,
mek ur offline profile n the game will be autosaving,..

Well i was stumped how to get auto save working until i read this:

Launch the game. Open the Windows Live menu.
If you are already logged onto a profile (local or online), sign out (Create profile button will only become visible when you aren’t logged into anything)
Click on ‘Create new profile’ button.
In the dialog box that pops up DO NOT hit continue. Hitting continue will take you to a registration page for an ONLINE profile – that’s not what we want.
Once in the ‘Create Gamer Profile’ window, scroll down so that you can see the bottom paragraph.
Look for the hyperlinked ‘created a local profile’ link in last paragraph. Clicking this will allow you to create a new offline profile.
You should now be able to save your progress in Dirt 2 without any issues. The game will log you into your offline profile automatically whenever the game is launched.

This game is brilliant, awesome fun! to those having issues.. try the latest graphics card drivers and make sure direct x is up to date. runs fine for me on:

Nvidia 8600GT 512
Intel dualcore 3.2ghz
4gb 800mhz DDR2
Windows 7 x64

How Can you save game?====
This fix your dirt 2 save game problem i do it and it is okey for me
1. Launch the game. Open the Windows Live menu.
2. If you are already logged onto a profile (local or online), sign out (Create profile button will only become visible when you aren?t logged into anything)
3. Click on ?Create new profile? button.

Hey I have a problem launching the game. I replaced the 3 files (the 2 apps in cutscene folder and 1 dll in database), but when I wanna start the game, it still tells me that it's the wrong dvd...

Any ideas ?

(I run on Win 7(32-bit) with an E8400, 4gbs (ram) and a nvidia 8800GT)

If you are already logged onto a profile (local or online), sign out (Create profile button will only become visible when you arenÃ¢ï¿½ï¿½t logged into anything) THEN WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO IS NO NEED TO CREATE A NEW PROFILE OR AS AEXCISTING USER<JUST SCROLL DOWN THAT PAGE BY MOUSE AND YOU WILL FIND A LINK "CREATE LOCAL PROFILE"OR SOMETING LIKE THIS IN THAT PARAGRAPH JUST CLICK AT THAT LINK BUT REMEMBER ONE THINK U MUST DISCONNECT THE INTERNET IN all PROCESS,then U CAN CREATE OFFLINE PROFILE!
ENJOY DUDE,S!

and one more thing if u want to run the game u willhave to run it go to start menu,all programes,codemasters,dirt2,or dirt2 safe mode,the game can't be run by icon placed in desktop,it will give u error!

That's what I did, but the wrong DVD screen still pops up. Also I looked everywhere, I do not find a safe mode.

I haven't finished downloading yet, but are you sure you replaced the ENTIRE crack into your game folder? Somehow 3 files, 2 being related to a cutscene folder, doesn't quite satisfy me in terms of a correct crack installation.

Go check your crack folder again for any extras, or just go to gamesburnsworld or somewhere similar and download another crack there.

dude,first when u mount the rars(game dirt2),then in crack folder there will be 3 files 2 .exe files and one .dll format something likeTHIS!shortcut copy that 3 files in installation directory where u have installed the game!THEN
HOW TO RUN THE GAME!!
Go the startmenu,all programes,codemasters,dirt2,safemode
THEN HOW TO SAVE GAME!

u can save progress if u had a live account already on ur computer ...i had 1 from gta4 so i cud lay sf4 without creating a new windows live account...i think its the same ...

heres the solution to the savegame problem, the option of making an offline profile is no longer available in GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE client. so all you have to do is install GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE 2.0, the older version
which has the option of making an offline profile

Guess i need to upgrade my PC,
i have 2GB RAM,Nvidia Geforce 6600,Intel P4 Processor 3.20Ghz

Game works great, mounted in daemon tools, installed to default directory, copied all 3 cracks and pasted in the games main folder, started game, created offline account ''MAKE LOCAL PROFILE'', pla **** the game all night, game auto saves...great fun :). I may even buy it so I can play around online.
