amazing scifi classic! i hated the remake for being too preachy and environmental...thats not the message of the original. the original was made at a time when the communist threat was looming and the korean war was going on. the message was changed in the new remake to be more about being green and how we (humans) destroy the earth by being greedy and not environmentally friendly. what a crock..it felt like i was listening to al gore lecture...what a douche! keanu reeves being cast didnt make sense to begin with and he butchered the character as usual...dude!

Saw both movies, and there are both great. The 2008 has a better logic, thow it's not about enviroment or something, but it just give a more decent reason why an super advanced civilisation would want to wipe us out. Actualy in 2008 movie I kinda was on the alien side, since the stupid american gov. did it again. Why is it that the fate of humanity always depends of low IQ american gov???
