the speed matters, the FSB, clockcycle, everything that makes a CPU as a whole.
for example, i got a Quad-core CPU. it clocks at 2.4 Ghz. but its still better then a single-core 3 Ghz processor. just go to www.canirunit.com (or something like that)

i kinda gimped myself by running 1920x1200 with only 512 mb, but i manage.
good luck, and do some research yourself people, dont go spamming your specs to see if you can run it.
